ANYWAYS~ pretty much everyone who watches me knows that i love billy talent A LOT. and that i was obsessed with ben and wanted to marry him (i'm over that now. kinda.) even though i can't pronounce his last name. and that i'm incredibly proud of the fact that they're from my hometown. and that ben used to work for my favorite radio station.
and that i pretty much love everything about that band. (YES I'M ONE OF 'THOSE' CREEPY FANS : D)
so, i was gonna buy billy talent iii right when it came out. but then something came up, and another thing came up, and then more stuff came up, so i bought it today and am currently listening to it and i feel really lame because really, who hasn't heard it yet?
i was going to do a song-by-song review but then i realized that i liked every single song on the record and that my review would go like...
devil on my shoulder: AMAZING.
rusted from the rain: really amazing!
saint veronika: REALLY GOOD : D
so, i decided to do something else! since i'm such a giving person, i'm going to share my favorite lyrics from every song with you! : D (plus i really need to update my journal. the other one is SO STALE AND CRUSTY D
SO HERE WE GO:
devil on my shoulder:
i dug my hole so deep, i'm gonna drown in my mistakes
can't even sell my soul, cause it ain't worth shit to take
rusted from the rain:
dissect me till my blood runs down into the drain
my bitter heart is pumping oil into my veins
i'm nothing but a tin man, don't feel any pain
i don't feel any pain.
saint veronika:
and while the angels sleep, all of the devils are awake
waiting to steal your love, right outside the heaven's gate
and all the sacred hearts, can't numb the feeling from the pain
cause when the drugs don't work, you're gonna curse his holy name
tears into wine:
the gun is loaded when the glass is full
down the hatch, and the trigger's pulled
off the wagon, and back onto the stool
i know that when i stare into your eyes
i can see all the years of lies
ghosts and demons you never exorcised
white sparrows:
my heart just stopped when i was told
doctor, doctor on the phone
said my love was never coming home
pocketful of dreams:
she sold her dreams for security
to a man that now she hardly ever sees
with a cold martini in her hand she don't mind, don't mind
the dead can't testify:
let the rain fall down, let it fall to the ground
let the rain fall down to the ground
and the birds don't sing, no they don't make a sound
when you're six feet underground
diamond on a landmine:
when dancing on thin ice before
frozen from the winter's cold
and if it were to crack below
i'd never let you go
turn your back:
i hope some day when i'm dead and gone
we learn to write everything that's wrong
with loving hands turn sick to strong
our time will tell if life goes on
sudden movements:
i'm the guardian of angles, and they'll get what they deserve
so lock your children in the basement, keep a rifle by the door
don't be afraid of my intentions
cause i'm more afraid of yours
definition of destiny:
we had passion, we had goals
why is life so set in stone? it doesn't have to be
and now two observations about this album!
1) the band seems to be obsessed with devils/angels/heaven/church
seriously, they're mentioned is some way on every song except for three of them.
2) in the lyrics booklet, there's this part: 'when your six feet underground.' and it should be you're, not your. and that REALLY ANNOYS ME.
anyways, that is all. : D
