pride parade;
so fucking amazing.
i saw so many things and took so many pictures (i'm gonna upload a couple only though, most of them aren't as good as i'd like them to be.)
i couldn't find my rainbow top, so i wore purple skinnies with a striped black & grey tee with purple...creatures on it. i don't know what they are, but they're fuzzy. :3 i wore pins, though. they were rainbowwww.
the best part was sitting on the train, and seeing people heading to the mall or or work or whatever, and looking for the people going to pride. i saw a guy wearing a rainbow wristband, a girl with a rainbow painted on her hand, a girl wearing a tshirt with rainbows and unicorns on it...it was fun. xD
all the major streets were closed, so we were walking down the middle of the street towards the parade just taking everything in. almost all the stores had pride flags in the displays, and one even had six mannequins up. one was wearing a red outfit, the next one orange, then yellow, etc. h&m had actual models in the window. it was creepy, cause one minute you're looking at three mannequins in the window draped in pride flags, but then one smiles, and one winks at you and its like whoa creepy but cool.
i saw a topless woman, she had a 'shirt' painted on in rainbow colors. i wonder what she did when it started raining. a woman was wearing a pride flag as a skirt. also, in my previous journal i mentioned two women wearing pride flags as tops? i saw them again today! haha.
the actual parade = no words. seriously, i'm not even going to try to describe it. so many balloons, so many people. one van had a bunch of trannies on it, all wearing shimmery outfits and singing along with lady gaga. 'let's have some fun this beat is sick, i wanna take a ride on your disco stick.' it was amazing. some of the floats even had themes, like one were they were all dressed up as ancient egyptians, one were they're wearing thai clothing like this: [link] and one were there were cardboard palm trees, and they were wearing animal patterns. i have never seen so many open-minded rainbow-clad people at one place.
those are just a few of the things we saw. after, we went to eaton centre for food. a lot of people there were wearing rainbows, too. it gave me a strong sense of belonging, it was great.
on the way to the station to take us back to mississauga, we heard two guys behind us. we turn around and they're holding hands and checking out another guy. 'oh, lord, look at those legs!' 'oh my! too bad he's with someone already.'
like, seriously, how awesome is that? i totally want to be able to check out guys with whomever i'm dating. such a great bonding experience.
on the station, when we were switching trains, we saw two old ladies, like maybe seventy years old? they were holding hands and walking, and one of them was holding a pride flag. it was cute.
tl;dr: pride = amazing. going again next year.
have you guys ever been to a pride parade? or a gay village? :]
Devious Comments
Never been to one. But now I want to.
In southern indiana, most everyone (at least where I am, no so much in the cities and whatever) is a homophobic pig. so I don't think it would go over so well.

Don't worry, don't worry, don't worry. It's not you they're talking about, it's how they want to be you.
I know, it was heartwarming to see them still together after so many years, and still proud.
I wanna hug them *nodnod*

Btw, since you're going first, you need to tell me who was awesome live and who wasn't. x)
